What drives you is more powerful than what holds you back.
I help athletes, entrepreneurs, and students overcome the mental hurdles that are keeping them from playing, working, and living with freedom and confidence.
There was a time when you showed up with more freedom and confidence — when the pressure didn’t feel this heavy.
Maybe you’re an athlete who used to play with joy and freedom — and now you’re tense, overthinking every move, and wondering do I have what it takes?
Maybe you’re an entrepreneur or professional who started out energized and passionate — and now you’re overwhelmed by all the roles you have to play and don’t feel like you’re doing any of them particularly well.
Maybe your son or daughter is struggling in their sport and everything you try to help seems to backfire.
The good news: the mental side is trainable. And that’s exactly what we do here.
A rare combination — and it matters.
Most mental performance coaches aren’t licensed therapists. Most therapists haven’t competed athletically at a high level, built their own business & led teams in a demanding organization.
Most people in this field have one or two of those experiences. I’ve had all five, which means we speak a common language and I can understand your challenges more quickly and clearly.
The pressure my clients face — as athletes, entrepreneurs, and parents — is pressure I’ve felt myself. I grew up playing competitive club soccer and went on to play Division I soccer at Columbia University. I experienced significant performance anxiety in my playing career — and had no idea what was happening or how to make sense of it. I’ve also built my own business, led teams in a demanding organization, and raised two competitive athletes.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Mental Performance Coach, I work with:
- Athletes wanting to optimize performance or navigate mental health challenges
- Entrepreneurs and professionals managing the weight of too many roles
- Parents supporting their young athletes through the pressures of competitive sports
Whether you need coaching, therapy, or a mix of both, we’ll figure out the right fit on your first call.

Coaching isn’t a clinical service, so it isn’t billed to insurance. If you’d like to know whether your plan is accepted for Sport Psychology or Therapy, reach out before booking and we’ll check together.
Four ways to work together.
Mental Performance Coaching
One-on-one coaching to help athletes overcome their inner critic, bounce back from mistakes, and play with the freedom and confidence they’re capable of.
Sport Psychology
When the mental load goes beyond performance — anxiety, identity, burnout, or emotional well-being — sport psychology brings the full depth of therapy and coaching together.
Therapy for Entrepreneurs & Professionals
You started with energy and passion. Now you’re stretched thin across too many roles. Therapy helps you find your footing, reconnect with your purpose, and build the habits that sustain success — without burning out.
Test Prep & College Consulting
24 years of helping students get scores that actually reflect their ability — by addressing test anxiety, strategy, and confidence alongside the content.
Here’s what people say.
“Andrew helped guide me through methods to deal with anxiety and pressure which contributed to positive effects of slowing the game down, performing better, and more enjoyment. He helped me shift my perspective — I am not identified based on my stats or performance, but who I am as a person. That gave me a better outlook on my struggles and propelled me to bounce back from a negative moment.”
“Andrew made it simple and efficient for the kids, and told them how to practice these tools and use them on race day. Many of the athletes commented on how beneficial the workshops were and how they continue to use what they were taught. Andrew brought a huge mental component to my team. We’re stronger from this experience.”
“Because of the help I received, I was able to overcome my performance anxiety and the mental blocks that held me back. I realized my mistakes don’t reflect how good I am — my response to them does. Now I play freely and without limits. It is so much more enjoyable.”
You might be thinking…
Here are a few things people often tell me on a first call.
01 “I can’t help getting in my head. I’m not doing it on purpose.”
Nobody does it on purpose. Negative thoughts are normal, and even the best athletes have them. The goal isn’t to get rid of them, it’s to keep them from running the show.
02 “My coaches and teammates don’t really believe in this stuff.”
This work is for you, not for them. Let your play speak for itself, and share as much or as little about it as you like.
03 “I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to coaching.”
That’s what the free discovery call is for. It’s a relaxed conversation about where you are and what might help, with no commitment.
